The Leather Chef's Promise: Our Commitment to You

 

At The Leather Chef, we believe in creating more than just beautiful leather products; we craft lifelong companions. Our promise to you extends far beyond the point of purchase. We are proud to be the first and only leather goods brand in India to offer our exclusive Lifetime Carry Promise™ and Trade-In for Life™ programs.


 

1. The Lifetime Carry Promise™

 

"Buy any The Leather Chef product — and we’ll repair it for FREE, for life."

This is our unwavering commitment to the quality and craftsmanship of our products. No fine print, no expiry date. If your Leather Chef product fails in its core functionality due to a manufacturing or hardware defect, we will repair it free of charge.

What is Covered:

  • Stitching: If any of the stitching on your product comes undone or unravels, we will re-stitch it.

  • Hardware: This includes zippers, buckles, clasps, rivets, and other metal fittings. If any of these components break or fail, we will repair or replace them.

 

What is Not Covered (The Nature of Leather):

Leather is a natural material that evolves with time and use. This aging process is what gives each piece its unique character. Therefore, our Lifetime Carry Promise™ does not cover damages that are a result of normal wear and tear, or accidental damage. This includes:

  • Scratches and Scuffs: These are a natural part of the leather's journey.

  • Color Fading or Stains: Exposure to sunlight, liquids, and other environmental factors can alter the color of the leather.

  • Tears or Cuts in the Leather: The promise covers the construction of the product, not damage to the leather hide itself from sharp objects or force.

  • Damage from Improper Care: Using harsh chemicals or cleaning methods not recommended for genuine leather can damage the material and will not be covered.

How to Initiate a Repair:

  1. Contact Us: Email our customer care team at care@theleatherchef.in with the subject line "Lifetime Carry Promise™ Repair Request".

  2. Provide Details: In your email, please include your name, order number, a clear description of the issue, and a few photographs of the damaged area.

  3. Evaluation: Our team will assess the damage based on the information provided. We may ask you to ship the product to our workshop for a physical evaluation.

  4. Repair & Return: If the repair is covered under our promise, we will carry out the necessary repairs and ship the product back to you.

Customers are responsible for the cost of shipping the product to The Leather Chef. We will cover the cost of return shipping.


 

2. The Trade-In for Life™ Program

 

"Old is Gold. Always."

We understand that styles evolve, and your needs may change. Our Trade-In for Life™ program encourages a circular economy and builds a lasting relationship with our customers.

How it Works:

If you own any The Leather Chef product, you can trade it in at any time and receive a 30% credit of the original purchase price towards a new product from our collection.

The Benefits:

  • Encourages Repeat Buying: A great reason to come back to us for your next leather purchase.

  • Creates a Long-Term Relationship: We value you as a customer for life.

  • Sustainable Practice: Your old bag will be given a new life. We will assess each traded-in product and either:

    • Upcycle: Creatively reuse the materials for new, unique products.

    • Gifting/Donation: Use them for promotional giveaways or donate them to a worthy cause.

How to Initiate a Trade-In:

  1. Contact Us: Email our customer care team at care@theleatherchef.in with the subject line "Trade-In for Life™ Request".

  2. Provide Details: In your email, please include your name, order id, the product you wish to trade in, and a few current photos of the item.

  3. Evaluation & Credit: Our team will verify your original purchase (if possible) and the product's authenticity. We will then provide you with a unique discount code equivalent to 30% of your original purchase price.

  4. Ship Your Old Product: Once you have made your new purchase using the credit, we will provide you with instructions on how to send your old product to us.
